Account Managers
Paul G. Becker, MBA, ARM, ALCM, Senior Account Manager Paul achieved a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Western Michigan University. He has been a part of the Citizens/Hanover family of companies since 1986.Paul is responsible for new business development and renewal management for Western and Northern Michigan as well as the entire state of Indiana. He partners with our independent agents to bring 14 years of Workers’ Compensation Self-Insurance expertise to prospects and clients. For prospects new to self-insurance, Paul has developed numerous financial tools (cash-flow exhibits and break-even analysis) that provide an excellent foundation for the self-insurance decision making process.

Christopher R. Cramer, Account Manager Chris received a BA from the University of Michigan in August 2002. He started at Citizens in June 2003 in the Commercial Lines program. He was promoted to the position of Small Commercial Underwriter, and then to a Middle Market Underwriter. Chris transferred from Citizens to CMI in July 2006.
Chris is responsible for new business development in Southeast and Central Michigan and Ohio. To promote CMI self-insurance programs, Chris recruits and strengthens relationships with independent agents through agency marketing and informational visits.

Michael Hoffer, Account Manager
Since that time, CMI has additionally been awarded the State’s Long-Term Disability contract and Michael has added that responsibility to his management role. He also works with one of the eleven self-insured groups CMI has partnered with, as well as handling several corporate clients. Michael is responsible for excess underwriting, trend analysis, service fee pricing and driving new business while developing client retention. |
Jeffrey Packard, Senior Account Manager Jeff achieved his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from Central Michigan University. He has 20 years experience in the Workers’ Compensation industry and has been with CMI since 1994. Jeff has been the Account Manager responsible for Self-Insured Groups since 1999. Jeff is responsible for contract compliance and retaining a deep level of partnership with the Self-Insured Groups that CMI provides administration and excess coverage. With over 12 years of claims handling experience, Jeff provides oversight on all of the functions CMI provides our Self-Insured Groups: Claims Administration, Loss Prevention, Payroll Audits, Risk Management Services, Member Billings, Underwriting and communication with the State of Michigan’s Workers’ Compensation Agency. He is also charged with developing new opportunities in Self-Insured Groups administration.

Michael began his career with CMI in July of 2000, serving in the role of a Workers’ Compensation adjuster. He was promoted to fill a newly created Account Manager position when CMI was awarded the Workers’ Compensation administration services for the State of Michigan.
