What Business Owners Should Know About Their Homeowners Insurance
As the owner of a home-based business, you do need commercial insurance…but you may not need a separate business policy.
Our Home Entrepreneur Program* adds business coverage to your homeowners insurance, covering:
- Business Property: Whether your office or storage space is located in your home or in a separate structure, it's covered against fire, theft, vandalism, and other losses.
- Business Personal Property: Furniture, fixtures, machinery, equipment, supplies — the tools of your business are covered. You also receive coverage for business property while away from home, as well as for losses to others' property when temporarily in your possession.
- Money and Securities: The cash and securities you use in conducting your business are covered for theft, disappearance or destruction.
- Loss of Business Income: Compensation for interruptions in your business operations and extra expense you incur due to a covered loss.
- Loss of Accounts Receivable Records: Replaces revenue that becomes uncollectable due to loss or damage of your account files.
- Credit and ATM Cards: Covers losses arising from unauthorized use, forgery or counterfeiting of your corporate bank cards.
- Business Liability: This important provision covers all your business operations and includes protection for injuries caused by accidents.
