Our College Recruiting Process

Following is a description of the recruiting timeline and process used by The Hanover’s college development program:

1. Fall Recruiting

Each year, The Hanover actively recruits students from a select group of colleges and universities. In most cases, we begin our recruiting activities during the fall semester to promote our college development opportunities. We attend career fairs, host information sessions and accept online job postings. Please visit your Career Services Center regarding our visit.

2. Applying for Opportunities

We asked that students interested in applying for our positions post their resumes through the career center’s online recruiting system. Resumes will be forwarded to us for review.

3. On-Campus Interviews

Once our staff has reviewed resumes submitted by students though recruiting activities or online job postings, we invite some of them to be interviewed on their campuses. Each candidate is targeted against a specific career track. These interviews are completed by mid-November, and in some cases, we return to the campus for spring recruitment activities.

4. On-Site Interviews

After the on-campus interviews, we select the candidates who best match each career track’s criteria and competencies. They are invited to interviews at our regional office near their campus or at our home office in Worcester, Mass. We ask them to apply online, complete an applicant profile and post to their specific college development program opportunity.
These interviews often are completed by mid-December, but in some cases might be carried out for additional spring recruiting. In any event, The Hanover keeps an open line of communication with candidates regarding their status in the recruiting process.

5. Decisions and Offers

Once the on-site interviews are completed, the college recruiting team meets to discuss each candidate and determines who will be offered employment. We expect each candidate will hear from us within one week after their on-site interview, but we encourage them to call their company contact for an update at any time.
