Robert Schultz - President
Mr. Schultz is a founding partner of AIX and is responsible for the company's overall operations. Previously, he was President and founding partner of Artis, a joint venture with Orion Capital, which wrote $500 million of captive and self-insurance programs annually. Prior to Artis, he was an original employee of Discover Re Managers, serving as Vice President at the firm's inception. During his tenure there, he managed the Midwest territory and started the specialty program division. Mr. Schultz began his insurance career with General Reinsurance Chicago and Cigna Insurance, Des Moines, Iowa. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Iowa and an MBA from Drake University.
Russell Renvyle - Regional President, West
Mr. Renvyle, a founding partner of AIX, is responsible for overall production and management of existing and new programs in the Western region. Russell was previously responsible for the overall underwriting activities of the firm. Prior to founding AIX, he was a founding partner and Senior Vice President of Artis, a joint venture with Royal & Sun Alliance. Earlier in his career, he was Vice President of Discover Re Managers, where he held a variety of underwriting and marketing management positions. Russell is a graduate of Bowdoin College and holds a BA in biochemistry.
Brad Isaacson - Regional President, East
Mr. Isaacson joins AIX from American Safety Insurance where he served as Vice President Specialty Programs and Alternative Risk Division, with full responsibility for the Specialty Program, Fronted Program, and Alternative Risk Division. Prior to American Safety, he served Fireman's Fund Insurance Company in a broad range of roles, including business development, commercial group director, and underwriting. Brad holds a BA in Business Administration from Oglethorpe University and is a talented business leader and insurance executive with more than 25 years of experience working with executive teams to profitably grow businesses and manage risk.
Craig Rappaport - Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Rappaport is an original member of the AIX leadership team and is currently responsible for delivering operational excellence to all clients of AIX. Prior to his role as COO of AIX, he served as SVP and COO of NOVA Casualty Company, which he joined in 2003. In that role, he was responsible for capital raising, mergers and acquisitions, and was actively involved in bringing together and building what AIX Group is today. Mr. Rappaport previously was an investment banker with Wachovia Securities where he advised clients in capital raising and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Rappaport holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Edward Klotz - Chief Underwriting Officer
As an accomplished alternative risk specialist, Mr. Klotz is responsible for the overall underwriting activities of AIX. Before assuming this responsibility, Ed worked with many of AIX’s clients as Vice President, Program Business Development. Prior to joining AIX, Ed served as Vice President, Underwriting, Central Region Manager for Alea Group, Alternative Risk Division, as well as Second Vice President, Special Accounts Marketing at Discover Re. He began his distinguished management career at The Travelers Insurance Company. Ed has earned a B.A. Communications, PR/ Marketing focus from Seton Hall University.
