From the start of the COVID-19 crisis, we have moved quickly and decisively to help our customers, agents, employees and communities manage these difficult times. Visit our COVID-19 resource center for more information.
Customers
- Returning 15% of April and May auto premium to eligible* personal lines customers through The Hanover CARES Fund, equating to approximately $30 million
- Placing a 60-day hold on all cancellations for non-payment for all customers through June 1, 2020 and offer other billing flexibility options
- Extending personal auto coverage to individuals delivering food, medicine and other essential goods at no additional charge
- Offering virtual claims inspections and home evaluations to promote social distancing
Agents
- Accelerating the release of commission payments to assist with cashflow
- Helping agents renew business faster and offering additional underwriting flexibility
- Communicating frequent updates and helpful resources to our agent partners
- Planning how we will help agents get back to business quickly when this is over
Employees
- Enabling 95% of our employees to work safely from their home
- Adjusting company policies to allow employees to care for themselves or family members should they become ill
- Following all CDC recommendations and deep cleaning our facilities to keep them safe for those coming into the office
- Helping employees manage the stress and new challenges of this pandemic with our free employee assistance program
Community partners
- Donating $500,000 to local nonprofits across the country to address needs arising from this public health crisis
- Providing medical supplies and protective masks to local area hospitals
- Implementing an employee matching gift program for donations to coronavirus relief efforts
- Partnering with Cheeriodicals to give "gifts or thanks" to healthcare professionals in our local hospitals
