As of September 15, our PEL underwriting division will transition to a customer segment focused service model consisting of: 

Select and Delegated Distribution teams

Underwriting teams focused on small high-volume policies and technology-enabled business including TAP Sales and APIs, as well as program and other delegated business 

  • Select teams – for small policies and technology-enabled business, underwriters deliver a consistent, efficient experience while applying deep expertise
  • Delegated Distribution team – for programs and other delegated business, underwriters leverage specialized knowledge to deliver a portfolio-based approach with enhanced capabilities

Account teams

Underwriting teams focused on delivering enhanced specialization and offering strategic guidance for mid-sized to large, more complex policies

Criteria for segment account handling by line of business

We determine whether a policy is serviced by the Select and Delegated Distribution teams or the Account teams within Professional Liability or Management Liability based primarily on the organization's annual revenue or number of employees. See below for the criteria by line of business.

  • Accountants professional liability – up to $5M in revenue
  • Architects and engineers professional liability – up to $1M net ratable billings
  • Lawyers professional liability – up to 5 attorneys
  • Miscellaneous professional liability – up to $5M in revenue
  • Accountants professional liability – greater than $5M in revenue
  • Architects and engineers professional liability – greater than $1M net ratable billings
  • Financial institutions – all financial institutions
  • Lawyers professional liability – more than 5 attorneys
  • Miscellaneous professional liability – greater than $5M in revenue
Healthcare
  • Allied healthcare organizations – up to $3M gross receipts (admitted only)
  • Practitioners – all practitioners
  • Allied healthcare organizations – all other accounts
  • Eldercare – all eldercare organizations
Management Liability
  • Cyber – up to $50M in revenue and 75 employees
  • Executive lines – up to 200 employees and $150M in revenue for private companies, $100M in assets for non-profits
  • Fidelity and crime – policy limits up to $500K 
  • Cyber – greater than $50M in revenue and more than 75 employees
  • Executive lines – more than 200 employees and great than $150M in revenue for private companies, $100M in assets for non-profits
  • Fidelity and crime – policy limits greater than $500K

All program and other delegated business is supported by the Select and Delegated Distribution team, regardless of policy size.

Whether Select and Delegated Distribution or Account, you can continue to submit business through the same channels you use today – direct to your underwriter or regional distribution director, through designated submission email inboxes or via TAP Sales.
