Richard W. Lavey
Executive Vice President, President, Hanover Agency Markets
An accomplished senior executive with 30 years of experience in the property and casualty industry, Dick joined The Hanover in 2004 and has held a number of leadership positions in the home office, as well as in the field over the last 19 years. He is currently president, Hanover Agency Markets, overseeing a $4.5 billion portfolio for the company’s personal and commercial lines businesses and leading the company’s efforts to expand business written through its agent partners. Previously, he was chief marketing officer, chief growth innovation officer and president of personal lines. He also served as regional president for The Hanover’s Northeast Region, and as vice president of field operations and marketing.
Prior to joining The Hanover, Dick was vice president of strategic initiatives for The Hartford’s property and casualty organization and vice president, strategic marketing for The Hartford’s Select Customer division. Prior to that, he worked at two software companies, ChannelPoint and Bowstreet, and was a strategy consultant for CSC Healthcare. He began his career at The Travelers Insurance Company.
Dick is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of The College of the Holy Cross and earned his Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School.
